Hair Pro Solutions:

The Systematic Approach to Hair Styling & Financial Freedom

By Debrah Englert

CINCINNATI – June 24, 2025 – Many young stylists drawn to the glamour and fashion vibes of cosmetology leave the field just a few years after getting started, due to low income and lack of a path to advancement, according to some experts.*

But it doesn’t have to be this way, says award-winning beauty entrepreneur and author Debrah Englert of Cincinnati, who has mentored hundreds of stylists and is passionate about the solutions available.

As the CEO and Founder of Hair Pro Solutions and a Master Hair Pro Consultant, Englert is on a mission to help stylists elevate their careers by redefining what it means to be a beauty professional.

“It’s time for stylists to expand their thinking,” says Englert. “My goal is to empower them to become hair pro consultants who are respected for their expertise, who build loyal client relationships, and who achieve financial freedom through their craft.”

“Stylists, who typically start just after or even in high school, do not have the skills or maturity to know how to run a business when they are first getting started and trying to perfect their craft. After a few years, they realize they are not making the kind of income that will sustain them long-term,” she adds.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics*, the median annual income for hair stylists in 2024 was just $35,470. Another government site associated with the US Department of Labor* notes even in the 90th percentile, stylists average just $63,310 and the profession ranks 465 in annual income, just after taxi drivers and grounds maintenance workers.

The work is also physically demanding, and the income and physical demands combined contribute to attrition, according to another study.*

Englert has distilled the best of her professional advice from a decades-long career into a recently-launched a comprehensive training program for other stylists. Hair Pro Solutions: The Systematic Approach to Hair Styling & Financial Freedom, offers a book, training program and membership group.

A New Standard for Stylists

The membership group also offers access to Englert herself, a thought leader in the beauty industry, advocating higher standards of professionalism and client care. Her mission is to inspire stylists to see themselves as consultants who bring value to their clients and elevate the industry as a whole.

“Too many stylists are stuck working harder without seeing the results they deserve,” says Englert. “I want to change that mindset and give them the tools to thrive both creatively and financially.”

She explains that success for a stylist requires far more skills than excellence at the technical skills of a stylist. Drawing on her own decades of serving a continuously growing group of loyal clients, Englert wants to help other stylists move on to upper-level skills of developing their own professionalism and personal branding. To do that, she counsels, stylists need to focus on building and maintaining client relationships by providing personalized, exceptional service. These relationships will provide opportunities to grow income and a stable financial future.

A Voice for the Industry

“My goal is to inspire professionals to master their craft, build strong client relationships, and embrace continuous learning,” Englert explains.

As the founder of her Cincinnati salon, Debrah Englert’s Healthy Hair Healthy Body as well as the new Hair Pro Solutions program, she has built a legacy of success by equipping thousands of stylists with proven systems and strategies.

She previously was the founder, CEO, and driving force behind a day spa, successfully leading a team of over 25 professionals for 14 years. Additionally, she managed a large salon within a prominent salon chain and served as the Educational Director, further solidifying her reputation as a top-tier educator and leader in the field.

“Young stylists start in the business because they love doing hair,” says Englert, CEO and Master Hair Pro Coach at Hair Pro Solutions, “but haven’t had any training in seeing the larger picture of growing a business, not just in building a book of repeat clients, but in understanding income streams and setting financial goals for themselves for decades ahead.”

At first, beginner stylists do need to focus on perfecting delivery of beauty services, she explains.

But once licensed, working with clients, and building their client base, too many stylists then feel they have concluded their needed training.

Later they may quit or become deeply discouraged as they work harder and harder but aren’t seeing increased revenues.

Englert challenges them to look further down the road and wants to make learning how to level up their services and add new income streams doable, when for many it seems too high a hurdle.

In addition to her salon based in suburban Cincinnati that includes salon services, plus additional specialty services she offers for hair loss solutions, she also offers a retail shop including her own proprietary line of hair care products.
