International oil industry expert challenges believers
to see peoples of the world and share the Gospel
See the People: Achieving a Better World One Life at at Time

Ft. Worth, Texas – October 31, 2025 – According to statistics, 85 percent of the world’s 8 billion people claim to follow a religion, and statisticians have identified 10,000 distinct religions in the world.
Another statistic notes that in the average country, 54% of people say religion is very important.
Retired international oil industry executive and author Bob Fox is not surprised. In his decades of experience around the world, he learned about the religions of people in the countries where he did business.
“Whether Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Shintoists, or part of any other religion, they do know how to worship something,” he writes, adding, “They are loved by God and Jesus died for them.”
An experience with the Lord when he was in his backyard at home in Texas demonstrated that to Bob when the Lord instructed him to “See the people everywhere you go and wherever you are! All of them have needs and I want to meet those needs.”
In their forthcoming book, See the People: Achieving a Better World One Life at a Time, co-written with his wife, Vicki, Bob recounts his experiences of seeing God working in him and through him to reach people with the Gospel all over the world.
God had more to say to him.
He was sent to Saudi Arabia for the first time not too long after 9/11. As an American, and a Christian, arriving in a 100 percent Muslim country in those tense days, he was talking to God while waiting in an airport line. He was mostly expressing thoughts about people who tended to hate God’s people, when he heard God’s whisper.
“These are the people that I love and that I died for.”
Just like that, he says, he started seeing them like Jesus did—with a heart of compassion.
“It is amazing how the Lord can make one comment and reset your entire perspective. Not a lot of words are needed,” he said.
Bob spent decades of his career working in the oil industry for the American offices of an international oil industry servicing company. In his position, he travelled to dozens of countries, including most of the oil-rich Middle East countries, and experienced the culture and religions of people throughout Asia, Russia and the United Kingdom.
On that trip to Saudi Arabia he writes, “I realized I was in this place on this business trip because the Lord wanted someone to pray for the people from inside the country. I got on my knees. Businesspeople can get into places where ministers cannot. Even the most corrupt countries in the world want to do business.
“Each night after the business meetings I would return to the room and start praying again, sometimes reading the Scriptures aloud in prayer. I returned to Middle Eastern countries several times, visiting Saudia Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates with the same mission—to pray from inside the countries for those nations and the people.”
Whether it was Muslims in the Middle East, Hindus in Singapore, or Shintoists in Japan, Fox learned everyone is seeking something they care about to make their life better, whether it is healing, or finances, or family. He would often seek opportunities to open doors by asking people if there was something he could pray for them.
“If you are speaking with a Muslim where it is not illegal, you can ask if they have any prayer needs that they are not getting answered from Allah. They love to see miracles, and our God loves to demonstrate His love for them by making sure the miracle happens. Just pray for them and watch God do what they can’t explain. “
He also teaches about the five main religions in the world today: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Shintoism, as well discussing witnessing to those of other faiths.
Bob outlines seven steps to reach out to people from other religions, as well as to Americans, and to engage the Holy Spirit to help your message soften the hearts of those to whom you are witnessing.
In addition, his co-author and wife, Vicki Fox, writes a section in each chapter on prayer, as well as offering template and sample prayers in an appendix.
“When you pray,” Vicki writes, “expect something to happen. Expectation is commonly referred to as biblical hope. It works along with faith and love to produce great power. Don’t be moved by the great temptation to quit, waver, or doubt. When I am praying for people, I let the Word of God fight its own fight by speaking the scriptures. His Word never fails.”
